At Southern Masts and Rigging we offer a full range of masts and rig equipment in both aluminium and carbon, including masts, booms, spinnaker poles, Rodkickers, rigid vangs, furling systems and rig fittings. All our rigs are custom made through every calculation and detail for each individual boat; we know how much depends on the rig and that there is no room for compromise in the rig.
We supply a complete range of selden masts and spars, and have particular skills in advising on in-mast Furling. An in-mast Furling sail does not need to be less efficient anymore. New technology and sails have steadily helped to improve the performance from in-mast furling.
At Southern Masts and Rigging we are experienced sailors. It is no coincidence that we are experts in carbon rigs. Carbon combines stiffness and strength with its low weight. Low weight spars provide longitudinal stiffness, meaning that forestay tension can be substantially increased, helping to increase performance.
