Booms
Our Selden booms can be equipped with a variety of reefing systems to suit different boats and the needs of different sailors. We supply both Aluminium and Carbon booms.
As South East agents for Selden, we can offer their carbon boom range. Carbon booms offer weight savings of up to 35% compared to aluminium. A lighter boom makes gybing less dramatic, reduces the tendency of the boat to roll when sailing downwind and the likelihood of the boom bouncing when sailing to windward. A lighter boom also enables a smaller and lighter Rodkicker to be used whilst improving the Rodkicker's effectiveness.
Rodkickers
A Selden Rodkicker facilitates sail handling when reefing, preventing the boom from dropping into the cockpit or onto the coach roof. When fitted with a gas spring, it lifts the boom when the kicking strap is released. Whilst excellent for trimming the main in light air, the rodkicker also doubles the purchase of your kicking strap.
